Welcome to Model Engineers Laser

PLEASE NOTE ALL MATERIAL IS NEAREST METRIC

Next show Bristol 21st to 23rd August

CLOSED FROM 5th TO 13th JULY

There are now 4,500 parts available

The prices shown on the web site will be subject to VAT as will the postage and packing.

Forthcoming is a detailed Duchess cab from works drawings, and maybe a King if I can get the drawings sorted out. These will be available in all gauges. New tender kits for 3,500 gallon LNER and Glen now available. Also just completed platework for Sterling Single, Speedy and Pansy. I can also form the sides for the tenders and tanks if required.

The Gauge 1 Brit is coming on slowly, not enough hours in the day but it is still looking good!

Note we do not accept cards, it costs 4% of the transaction so is too expensive, bring a cheque book or good old fashioned cash if you are attending a show.

The Wainwright D in 5 inch has been run on air very successfully and will be on display at Harrogate. If you fancy building this very attractive 4-4-0 locomotive drawings and parts will be made available in the future.

The laser cutting service for Model Engineers by a Model Engineer at reasonable prices!

With over 4500 different parts having already been produced for fellow Model Engineers this is the place to be to get that model done fast! Click on the gauge you are interested in and see the models I have already done parts for. Click on the model name and see the parts I have done and an indication of price. The price may vary depending on how long ago I last provided those parts. For other information use the buttons down the side.

Frames, tender kits, cabs, stretchers etc.they are all there from 0 Gauge up to 10 1/4"

For the Traction Engine enthusiast hornplates, spokes, bunkers etc.

If you cannot see the part you are looking for contact us, see how to do this by clicking the "Contact Us" button at the side. All it takes is a drawing, preferably with dimensions on!! I am not into dimensionless analysis or doing someone's design work for them. Please, if you want me to cut a part at least provide the dimensions.

If I have the parts in stock then delivery will be within a few days. If the parts are on the database already it will probably be 1-2 weeks. If I have to draw them and it is complex, say a new tender body then it could be months. Please remember I am a "One man band" and still trying to complete a Holmside!

I will enclose an invoice with your parts. Postage and packing will be at cost and VAT must be added for all UK and EC customers. I would appreciate a cheque by return. For those not in the UK the cheapest way is for you to send me a cheque in your currency. We will agree an exchange rate plus £5 charge from my bank for cashing it. This is the cheapest method. I do not take credit cards at the moment it is too expensive (4% on each transaction) but I am considering having to ask for monies up front as two fellow Model Engineers have not paid me for 6 months now..

Look at the kits I now do. These are very fast build, a 5" Stanier tender body in a weekend? It's possible! The parts are tabbed and slotted so you cannot get it wrong. Most go together with soft solder, the chassis frames and the stretchers need to be silver soldered. There are cab kits, motion brackets, bogies and lots more. For a fast and accurate build this is the way to go. Many are from works drawings or rescaled from other drawings so tend to be more accurate representations than the original drawings, not that difficult in some cases! Someone in your club may well have made one, ask around.

I shall be at the following venues:- Bristol 21st to 23rd August, Midlands 15th to 20th October, Sandown Park 11th to 13th December and Alexandra Palace from 22nd to 24th Jan 2010.

I am also giving a number of talks on laser cutting to various societies around the country in addition to my articles in Engineering in Miniature. If your society would like a talk get in touch, I only ask for some diesel money. Talks arranged Chesterfield 18th August (this is the new talk), Warrington 1st October, Lincoln 2nd December and Rochdale 4th December (this is the new talk). Leeds are piloting the third talk on 2nd September. I am also doing a series of talks at the Midlands Exhibition form 15th to the 20th October. I hope to see some of you at the talks.

Many thanks.
