7 1/4 Gauge

These parts are required to give the extra width needsd to accommodate the 7 1/2 wheel sets. The rest of the parts come from our standard chassis, ie outer and inner frames plus the inner stretchers. The buffer beams will depend on the width of your tank top, remember Highlader is over width.

This is a kit for the 4000 gallon tender for behind a Jubilee Black Five Rebuilt Scot Duchess etc. The kit is for the chassis only and does not include the hornblocks wheels etc. Only the plate work is included in the kit i.e. frames inner frames front and rear boxes inner and outer stretchers brake hangers and inter stays.. Further kits are available for the body work.

This chassis gives a width between the frames of 9 1/16 ratheh than the scale width. This allows you to use the 7 1/4 association dimensions for the wheels.

Some parts scaled up form 5 inch.

Very old drawings for a simple 0-4-0 tank engine.

A real work horse on open days. This 7 1/4 0-4-2 is a mighty pulling machine. The chassis is avaialblea s a quick build (QB parts) or as drawn but instead of having angle iron for stretchers I have made small kits. The frames are in 5mm but I have kept the 6 inches between frames.
